It is amazing to see that the Quebec provincial Liberals have been elected. Congratulations to Premier-Elect Couillard on being elected both in his seat and as Premier of Quebec. It is exciting to see federalism defeat ideas of separatism once again. Congratulations to the people of Quebec.
Members of the public will have the ability to make their opinions known regarding the pending development and the process that occurred to date. Major issue taken with the lot configurations and the number of lots allowed on the previously zoned school site.

Barrie City Council has approved the 2014 budget with an increase of 2.03% over last year. This is a very strong budget for the residents and taxpayers of Barrie. While improvements in roads and renewal are continuing, we are also going to delivering the lowest tax increase in 14 Years.

It is a good night of fiscal restraint that has lead to a 2.24% tax increase at Barrie City Hall. Further prudent planning is positioning Barrie to be on a steady footing for the future.
